Call for submissions

Following on from a hugely successful BCVA congress in October 2018 we would like to invite congress submissions for 2019. This year’s congress will continue to deliver high quality CPD for farm animal practitioners through bringing clinical updates, scientific advances and expert knowledge and experience to practitioners.

We would like to put a call out for submissions for the following types of presentations at congress:

  • Lectures: 30 minute oral presentations within the main congress programme streams including an opportunity to answer questions from delegates
  • Workshop: a limited number of 90 minute workshops are available for small group presentations in any format that you like. Workshops are restricted to approximately 20-25 places and allow an opportunity to be creative with your presentation style and produce interactive sessions with delegates
  • Young Vets Stream Workshop: a very small number of 60 minute sessions are available for speakers who wish to present a topic aimed at a target audience of vets 0-8 years qualified. These sessions are designed to be interactive and with a practical approach to the topic of choice
  • Postgraduate research: the congress scientific committee will select a number of the submissions for a 15 minute oral presentation with other accepted submissions being invited for a poster presentation
  • Short research/Clinical presentation: the congress scientific committee will select a number of the submissions for a 15 minute oral presentation with other accepted submissions being invited for poster presentation
  • Poster: an excellent way to share your information during the whole of congress and present your research in a visual form

There are two ways to submit:

  2. Emailing the attached form (BCVA Submission Form 2019.docx) to [email protected], attaching your abstract as a separate word document to the email.

The congress scientific committee will review all submissions and their decision (acceptance/refusal/resubmission) will be communicated shortly after the submission deadline to the main presenter with feedback available upon request. The submission should be suitable for publication as an abstract in Cattle Practice as all accepted submissions will be published in the proceedings at congress. All submissions that are accepted for presentation at congress will allow a discounted attendance rate at congress this year.

If you have any questions or comments, then please let the office know. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at Southport in October.

Best wishes
