Cases of recumbency in cattle can be some of the most difficult to manage in practice. Diagnosis and prognosis
are particularly problematic but vital if the case is to be managed effectively and the welfare of the animal
ensured. This paper outlines the results of an expert review designed to assess the attitudes of a group of
respondents with demonstrable expertise in cattle health and production to the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment
of recumbency in cattle.
