Radiography has become a more portable and economical tool in aiding lameness diagnosis on UK farms, and helps indicate the severity of the lesion, its nature, and most likely prognosis. A good understanding of the complex 3D anatomy and normal spatial relationships of the bovine digit is a prerequisite for successful interpretation of radiographs. However, the normal radiographic anatomy has not been described since 1989, and the lack of published data has left a gap in educational resources. It was therefore the aim of this study to illustrate and describe the radiographic anatomy of the bones of the bovine digit using unique 3D illustrations.
